Roc N' B & Friends is a locally created and produced kids' TV show that is proudly brought to you by a small team of teachers/artists/media creators and producers from the Rochester, NY region who still believes in the power of locally produced, creative, fun, and educational kids' TV! Our show is filled with adventure, fun-filled educational content, and a touch of our own brand of off-kilter, zany humor that owes its roots to the early heyday of public and local affiliate children's television programming.
Roc N’ B & Friends is a 30 minute segmented show that is presented in three acts. The program is rooted in the notion that interesting content can be found anywhere and everywhere, and each act is built around an everyday object, theme, or familiar place which is explored creatively, through story, skits, music, and informational segments. This philosophy leads to clever and often hilarious content based on seemingly random topics, socks for example, combined with the entertaining antics of an ever-expanding cast of zany puppet characters. The “Tall Tales of Roc N’ B,” serves as the show’s centerpiece and presents regionally-inspired fictional tales that highlight the show’s namesakes, Roc and B who are named after Rochester and Buffalo, respectively. The short documentary segments that are interspersed throughout the show include "Roc Docs" and “Nickel City” spots that highlight Rochester and Buffalo, respectively.
You can watch Roc N' B & Friends in the five county Rochester, NY market on Time Warner Cable and on Over-the-Air television on WBGT-TV (MYTV 18) On Saturdays at 10 am and multiple times a day on MY ROCHESTER TV. In Buffalo, the show airs on Saturdays at 11am on WBXZ’s Throwback Television and on Sundays at 9am on COZI-TV.
Roc N' B & Friends is produced by A. A. Augustine, a Buffalo native, who brings to the venture a decade’s worth of experience creating children’s television in the San Francisco area. Augustine is joined by collaborator Nancy J. Pigno, a Rochester teacher and writer. The program reflects their commitment to creating high-quality, locally-produced, educational television for Western New York families.
